On last Wednesday, April 12, 2017, English Education Department celebrated its 31st anniversary. To celebrate this anniversary, they held one-day party by having EDSA’s Got Talent. The students were enthusiastic to join this event. There were 10 finalists of EDSA’s Got Talent who performed various talents that they got. The students showed their ability in singing and dancing. This year anniversary was special because they invited a native speaker from the USA as one of judges.
“This year anniversary differs from previous years because last year we had EDSA (English Department Students Association) Ambassador; meanwhile this year we want to seek new talented students to be the representative of our department”, said by the Chairman of the Committee.
The first winner of this year EDSA’s Got Talent went to Arum Yunita from 2014 intake for her enchanting and powerful dance. She performed East Java dances beautifully. The runner-up winner was Pahar Karamigi who performed traditional Borneo dance gracefully. They presented their dance which was accompanied by magical and traditional music instruments, such as sapek, bamboo, saron, and jimbe.
